Advantages of Breast milk from Formula Milk

Breast milk is nature's perfect baby food. It contains immunity-boosting antibodies and healthy enzymes that scientists have yet to replicate. Here are some advantages of breast milk for babies:

Nutrition

While breast feeding is free water, Protein accounts for 75% of the nitrogen-containing, Essential fatty acids, Carbohydrate, Minerals, vitamins, and trace elements. Human milk has less protein than the amount added to formulas because breast milk protein is utilized more efficiently by babies. It forms a softer curd that is more easily digestible than cow's milk or formula curd.

Smarter Babies

As they say having a natural way of giving milk to your baby some studies says that a breastfed baby is more likely to learn faster.

Cost

Breast milk doesn't cost a cent, while the cost of formula quickly adds up. And unless you're pumping breast milk and giving it to your baby, there's no need for bottles, nipples, and other supplies that can be costly.

Convenience

Breastfed babies have fewer infections and hospitalizations than formula-fed infants. During breastfeeding, antibodies and other germ-fighting factors pass from a mother to her baby and strengthen the immune system. This helps lower a baby's chances of getting many infections.

Bonding

Since breastfeeding occurs in such close proximity, your baby will start to learn and recognize your unique scent. If you speak softly and soothing during feeding, breastfeeding also strengthens the voice bond that you’ve built while your baby was in the womb. Skin-to-skin contact increases the levels of oxytocin in both mom and baby, which in turn increases positive hormonal interactions. Sleepiness during breastfeeding is also one reason that new moms decide to try co-sleeping your baby. When your baby gets upset, breastfeeding helps to comfort & calm them down. This builds a strong bond and further encourages a closeness that only arises from breastfeeding. The soothing act of breastfeeding reduces pain and promotes healing.

Breastfeeding Challenges

Discomfort

If your baby consistently latches on wrong, sucking on your nipple without getting much of your areola in the mouth, you'll probably feel discomfort throughout each feeding. Some moms say it's painful or feels like a pinch as their babies nurse. And you'll probably have sore, cracked nipples in no time. Consulting with your doctor or lactation consultant can help with these situations.

Frequency

Frequent feedings also will help stimulate your milk production during the first few weeks. By 1 to 2 months of age, a breastfed baby will probably nurse 7-9 times a day.

Here's a short testimony from one of our Purest Mothers on why she chose to breast fed instead of taking formula milk. 😍
